Placement of Carts

Your black 96-gallon cart is designed for household garbage and food waste only. All trash and recycling carts must be placed at least 3 feet away from any obstacles (trees, cars, mailboxes, etc.) to allow the automatic arm to lift and empty the cart.

  • The cart handle must face away from the street (cart wheels face toward your house), with the lid opening facing the roadway
  • All garbage must be placed inside the cart with the lid closed
  • Please bag all garbage to keep carts clean and odor-free
  • Only City-provided carts will be collected. Resident-owned carts or containers WILL NOT be serviced
  • Any material left outside of the cart or placed on top of the cart WILL NOT be collected
  • Place your cart at the edge of your driveway the night before or no later than 7 am on your collection service ay. Do not place carts in the street
